For all bookings we may require debit card details to guarantee payment (or a deposit cheque of £30.00 per room). We will send the guest an email or letter confirming the booking. Full payment is due on departure. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, bank transfer, debit card or paypal. There is currently no charge for debit card payments. B&B prices are per room per night and include Full English breakfast and all taxes. Prices for our self-catering units are per night as described. Breakfast an added extra.
In the event of your booking being cancelled or curtailed, we are entitled by law to charge for booked accommodation not taken up. If cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival a cancellation fee of £30.00 per room may be charged. Cancellation within 48hrs of arrival (or non-arrival or curtailment of stay) will result in the full amount being charged. We will endeavour to re-let the accommodation on your behalf and, if successful, will refund the cost less a cancellation fee of £30.00. Deposits are non-returnable if cancellation occurs within 14 days of arrival and we are unable to re-let the accommodation. To avoid misunderstanding, we recommend all our guests to insure against cancellation.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking if accommodation is unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer guests alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable, then we would refund all monies alreay paid to us. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund and guests are fully responsible for the cost of alternative accommodation.
Check in is available to guests from 4pm until 10.00pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 11.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on or before departure. Early arrival arranged before 12.00pm will be charged for an additional night, between 12.00pm and 4.00pm will be charged £10 mnimum. Late departure after 12.00pm may be charged an additional nights stay.
If a booking is taken out for a specific room and the room reserved is required to meet a specific guest needs or rendered unusable via circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to transfer the booking to an alternative room of similar quality.
Guests are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which they or any member of their party cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest's debit card, or we may send you an invoice, for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant. We may make an additional charge if you did not report this.
We do not accept liability for damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment. Guests park their vehicles on our property at their own risk.
We accept children over the age of 12 years, in an allocated bed space. We do not offer any child reductions and all children under 18 years must have an adult present in the room with them. Younger children may be accepted in specific rooms and BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY. Accommodating an extra child under 12 years, will be charged £20. Cots for under 2 years can be provided for a nominal £5.
Pets are not allowed in rooms except assistance dogs. Well behaved pets are permitted to sleep in owners vehicles overnight and may be exercised on their lead around our grounds BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY.
To the extent permitted by law, these terms and conditions and the provision of our services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and any dispute arising out of these general terms and conditions and our services shall exclusively be submitted to the competent courts in the UK. Where there is a Contradiction between other Third Party T&G's and Howton Grove's, the latter shall prevail.
